[b][i]Opening Story:[/i][/b] Based on the classic fairy tale, [b]Fabled Legends The Dark Piper[/b] begins with the town of Hamelin celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Pied Piper Festival. Without warning, the Dark Piper appears to exact his revenge on the townspeople with disease ridden vermin swarming the city. It's up to you, as the inspector on the case, to save the city and stop the Dark Piper from destroying everything. Are you up for the challenge? [i][b]General Tips: [/b][/i]
[b]Objectives[/b] - Your objectives are found in the bottom left part of your screen. Clicking on that will bring up a notebook with a list of all your current objectives.
[b]Map[/b] - This can be accessed by clicking on the button in the lower right hand part of your screen. Select the Compass icon to view the map. The circle on the bottom right corner contains items for your use (once found). The Raven icon gives you the Ravenlore Whistle. The key icon gives you the Skeleton Key. The rat icon gives you the Pied Piper’s Flute.
The map can be used to determine your current location. You are represented by the flashing red square. Hover your mouse over a square to view the location name in the upper display. Green stars indicate a Hidden Object Area. Blue exclamation marks indicate the location of an objective.

[b]Inventory[/b] - Any items you find along the way will be placed in your inventory, which can be found at the bottom of your screen.
[b]Hints[/b] - If you're stuck in a certain area and or can't find a hidden object, click on the hint button located in the bottom left of the screen. Hints are unlimited, but you must wait for the meter to recharge.
[b]Skip[/b] - If you are having trouble with a puzzle or just don't feel like solving it, you can click on the skip button located in the bottom of your screen during a puzzle phase.
[b]Difficulty Settings[/b] - There are three difficulty settings in this game, casual, normal, and hard. Please note that you cannot change the settings in the middle of your game.
[b]Hand Cursor[/b] - When your cursor turns into a hand, it means you can pick up an item or interact in some way.
[b]Magnifying Glass[/b] - When your cursor turns into a magnifying glass, it means you can zoom in for a closer look.
[b]Objectives Buttons[/b] - Informs you of tasks you need to complete.
[b]Hidden Object Scenes[/b] - Sparkles will indicate a hidden object scene. Solutions to Hidden Object Areas and mini games may be random. Click to start it. When you begin an HOG scene, objects in white are ones that you can find immediately without any extra steps. Objects listed in orange require extra steps to find them.
[b]Morphing Items[/b] - There are 20 “morphing” Fabled Objects throughout the game. Not all objects morph the first time you see them. You may have to come back to an area later in the game to obtain them all. Toward the end of the game you will return to each area to locate a “Fabled Item.” In the interest of expediency, Fabled Items are identified with a yellow “star” on screenshots and an “FO” in the text description.
