Fantastic Creations: House of Brass Collector's Edition Walkthrough
Hey gamers! It's me... again! Midterms were brutal. I'm so happy that they are the last one's I'll ever have to take. I was so anxious awaiting my grades that I decided to calm down by playing that great game I previously reviewed, Fantastic Creations: House of Brass.
As I stated before, Fantastic Creations: House of Brass is fantastic! If you read the review, some of this information will be old hat, but some of it will be new.

As a young girl, you were told an interesting tale by your mother about an old house that housed an eccentric inventor who lived forever - and your grandmother. When your mother passes away, you find a brass tube among her things. Inside, a mechanical firefly takes you to the house from the tale. There you are trapped inside an underground clockwork house trying to find your way out. However, a robot blocks your way at every turn.
Needless to say, the plot was very good. It's not one I've encountered before and after months and months of insane asylum plots, this was a real treat. The graphics were as equally well done. They were beautifully rendered, and I felt immersed in the game everywhere I went.
Let's discuss the hidden object scenes. These are not your usual hidden object scenes. Instead of finding a list of items and/or pictures - you find, for example, 12 spherical items or 12 items made from rubber, etc. I loved this twist. It was a nice relief from the usual cluttered scenes found in most hidden object games. There are a total of 13 hidden object scenes in this game.
I'll tell you right now, the puzzles are not very easy and there are a lot of puzzles! Yes, there were a few that weren't too bad, but there were others that took a bit of thinking. They weren't frustrating, at least not to me, thankfully, but I did create a lot of video solutions for you - just in case! Several of the puzzles are repeated throughout the game with different solutions.
There is very little voice work in this game. I believe Cogglethorpe (the inventor) and the robot were the only ones who spoke. The inventor got a tad annoying. Always commenting on this and that and the other thing, and he had to congratulate you after every single puzzle. However, he seemed to want to say both "splendid" and "well done" and it usually came out "splendwelldone". Oy!
There is a lot of going back and forth in this game, but it's pretty logical. I few times I had to wander around until I found a hidden object scene or a puzzle, but it was a rare occasion. Overall, this is one of the best games I've played in a while. Well, I said that about the last one too, but that was before I played this one!
Here's a little peak at the game.
